One of the foremost English language business news services in China. Also has a complimentary weekly update subscription option. Great for breaking business news and relevant articles.
This magazine is also free (but you need to subscribe) and is one of the better and most established business magazines available. Subscription options are in English, German, French, Spanish & Italian. Subscribers can also access their archives section which is really useful for research.
China Briefing also publish a good series of technical guides to issues such as "Setting Up Representative Offices", "Setting Up Wholly Foreign Owned Enterprises", "Setting Up Joint Ventures", "The China Tax Guide", "China Mergers & Acquisitions" and a great little book, "The SME China Business Bible". They are all priced at USD25 plus p&p and are written by experts in their fields.
Dezan Shira & Associates are one of the few truly national practices in China and have been providing professional legal and tax advise to foreign investors in mainland China since 1992. They're pretty much everywhere you need them to be, all their staff speak English and they have several expatriates speaking various other European languages too.
